Time to pack away those heavy down comforters and bulky winter coats—spring returns March 19! If you’re looking to get outdoors near Owings Park, head to Oregon Ridge Nature Center for exploration close to home. Located in nearby Cockeysville, the nature center is a part of Oregon Ridge Park, which spans more than 1,000 acres with miles upon miles of trails to walk, run, and bike. If you’d like, you can plan your route with this map.

Beyond the trails, there's lots to explore in the Nature Center itself. There's a variety of exhibits that showcase the wildlife, history, and nature you'll find throughout the park. Beyond the main building, the park hosts a "sugar shack" where maple syrup is made with periodic demonstrations, plus a gypsy moth exhibit, a rabbit hutch, and more.
